Oscar Maleti is a vascular surgeon from Modena, Italy, who started researching deep venous disorders in the late 20th Century, has significantly advanced deep venous surgery by proposing a new type of valve reconstruction, endorsed by Professor Robert Kistner and Michel Perrin.
Today, he serves as Head of the Vascular Surgery Unit, National Reference Training Center in Phlebology, and Director of the Cardiovascular Department at Hesperia Hospital in Modena. He also shares his expertise with the next generation of specialists as a Professor of Venous Surgery at DUTEV Université Sorbonne – Pierre Marie Curie - in Paris and at the Vascular Surgery Post-graduate School Alma Mater Studiorum University in Bologna.
As the President of the European Board of Phlebology, his supervision ensures that the Competency in Phlebology courses maintain a high standard of quality and educational qualification, allowing young professionals the possibility to achieve true surgical competence.
