Call for Complex Case Submissions – Competency in Phlebology 2026

As part of the scientific program of Competency in Phlebology 2026, we are pleased to invite healthcare professionals with a special interest in deep venous disease to submit complex clinical cases for potential presentation during the course. Among the submitted cases, the Scientific Committee will select 12 for 3-minute presentation.

This call is open to phlebologists, vascular surgeons, angiologists, and interventional radiologists who are actively involved in the management of deep vein disorders.

Topics of Interest

We encourage the submission of cases that fall into one or more of the following categories:

  • Complex cases with no clear or satisfactory solution
  • Challenging cases where the treatment approach failed or led to complications
  • Cases requiring multidisciplinary approaches
  • Unusual or rare presentations of deep venous disease
  • Decision-making dilemmas in treatment planning
  • Difficulties in post-thrombotic syndrome management
  • Technical challenges in surgical and endovascular techniques

 Submissions must be in English and follow the format below:

  • Include a short abstract (< 500 words) in PDF format to explain the clinical case
  • Include a detailed description of the clinical background, treatment strategy, and final outcome
  • Include high-quality images and/or videos where applicable
  • Do not include any references to commercial products, medical devices, or company names

 How to Submit

Abstracts and presentations must be sent via email with the subject line:
“Competency in Phlebology 2026 – Case Submission – [Name Surname]”

In the body of the email, please include:

  • Your specialization
  • Your affiliation (hospital, clinic, or university)
  • Contact details (email and phone number)
  • Any potential conflicts of interest
  • The name of the presenting author, who will be considered the main contact for all correspondence related to the submission

For large files, please include a WeTransfer link or equivalent file-sharing service.

Benefits for Selected Cases

Authors of selected cases will be invited to present their work during the congress and will receive complimentary registration for the full event.
